After becoming sick and tired of being underpaid by his bosses in the Grand Companies, sleeping rough from place to place and finding himself becoming lonely, Nero finds a bar in the Sultana's Breath apartment, there he finds a girl called Yuina, who works for the Heated Hearth. After a few drinks with her, he eventually decides to take her up on the recommendation of joining the Hearth himself. Looking for steady feed, pay, and a few friends to laugh and fight alongside, Nero is hopeful of the future.
